PostSubject: Blackberry Playbook Tablet Features And Specifications   Tue Nov 08, 2011 3:48 pm

The Blackberry Playbook Tablet was recently launched by RIM (Research In Motion). It is an advanced device with powerful features all packed within a compact size. Being 7.5 inches wide, a mere 5 inches tall and only O.4 inches thick; it is definitely the smallest playbook tablet available in the market. Above all it weighs a little less than one pound. The feel and finish of the playbook is outstanding making it a pleasure to hold in your hand.

A real time touch screen, an operating system in QNX technology, a 1GHz dual core processor, 3.5mm jack, HDMI port, micro USB connectors, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and the swift running 1 GHz RAM are some salient features of the Blackberry Playbook tablet.

Main feature of the Blackberry Playbook tablet is the 7 inch 1024x600 pixel resolution LCD touch screen. The playbook has two cameras; a 3 megapixel camera located above the screen and a 5 megapixel camera located behind the tablet. The cameras can be used for capturing images, while the 5 mega pixel camera records video at 1080p. The video quality is nothing less than exceptional like that of most other Blackberry devices. Video conferencing can also be utilized through the built in cameras. Thanks to a standard HDMI connection available on this device and superior stereo sound, you can watch videos on your big screen TV.

The Blackberry Playbook tablet has a virtual keyboard where the keys are evenly spaced and responsive and a dedicated numeric keypad that is located on the left side for the user抯 convenience. The BlackBerry Tablets media player will not disappoint you as this premier media player and video creation are supported by Codecs. The audio quality and the video quality is absolutely fabulous as are the gaming options.

Rather than using buttons, you can control the device with swiping gestures. You can swipe all across the screen going from bezel to bezel. The menu can be accessed swiping downwards from the top, going upwards from the bottom the applications can be accessed while sideways swiping makes you bounce between open applications. Swiping actions make moving from applications to applications faster. The powerful OS of the BlackBerry playbook allows multitasking and you can run several applications in parallel at full speed.

The Blackberry lacks a built-in WWAN connection and instead the user has to rely on a Wi-Fi connectivity (it comes with Wi-Fi a/b/g/n) or mobile connection. You can pair it up with your Blackberry smartphone through the secure Blackberry connector or through the integrated micro USB connector for a fast 3G connection. While traveling, you can access the internet through Wi-Fi. The Blackberry supports Adobe Air, JavaScript and Flash Mobile, POSIX, SMP,Open GL, Blackberry 6, Webkit, HTML 5 web apps platform for smooth surfing of the web and new Blackberry Webworks. The Documents to Go application allows viewing of documents and you can edit documents in Power Point, Word and Excel.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is available in a 16GB, 32GB or 64 GB of internal storage space.

Conclusion

Blackberry Playbook Tablet is a thoughtful and well-designed replacement for a bulky laptop. It is lightweight, portable and is powered by an ultra-smart dual core processor and has loads of help from its 1 GB of RAM. The Blackberry Playbook Tablet is the smallest and the fastest tablet available. Its defects include an awkward power/sleep button and the absence of a built in 3G coneection. But this does not stop you from playing, browsing or downloading as you have the ability to connect through a Wi-Fi or Blackberry smartphone connection. RIM is working on these two flaws and hopefully the issues will be resolved in the next version. Multi tasking has never been easier with this user friendly tablet.
