Leadership starts with tough decisions. Let me reveal to you my recent leadership challenge and the leadership secrets you have available in any team building situation for great management results.

I have the honor and pleasure of volunteering for most people groups and causes. In numerous situations, I am contacted to lead as chairperson or even co-chairperson. Recently, I had the honor of co-chairing a gathering that involved leading plus motivating a team of volunteers to get results together for a productive result. Overall, the team volunteers are leaders in medical, education, business, media, your arts, and faith-based groups, etc. In other words, this team of volunteers was comprised of very motivated and carried out people who wanted to generate a difference.



One committee member became increasingly negative in the dog communication and actions with the expense of the other committee members. She behaved in a manner that was not in line with our overall mission. After a coaching session agreeing the amount was expected from her in relationship to mission, her behavior had become increasingly worse. The final straw was an awfully negative e-mail that stated she was truly the only committee member who was doing anything and personally attacked the other one committee members.

After consulting with the event organizers to gain agreement on a course of action, I called this man to let her recognise that this was not acceptable behavior and invited her in order to satisfy with me to discuss how we could bring her behavior more in line with the mission of our project. She rejected my invite, and I let her be aware that by not excepting my personal invite, she was don't a participant in the event. I followed up through an e-mail and letter reiterating my verbal statement. She made the selection to 揻ire herself.? br />

As leader in the event, I made phone calls to committee members to elucidate the committee change, let each committee affiliate know the wonderful job these folks were doing, and shared along with them where we were in relationship to mission and goals. Even though making these calls, I soon found outside that some committee customers were not as active in the project because of the main one negative committee member. A number of members had stopped marriage ceremony meetings, stopped communicating, and weren抰 giving 100% to the event. After assuring them that they can were valuable team members of this project and that that 搉egative member? would not be active in the project抯 going forward, we experienced a whole new level of motivation not to mention participation that took our event for a new level of success and broke a list for attendance.
